The role
What you will be responsible for.
- Characterize composition, defects, surfaces, stress, and thermal behavior.
- Develop incoming criteria and process-compatibility tests.
- Preserve sample provenance through sectioning, transfer, and destructive analysis.
Required qualifications
- PhD or equivalent experience in materials science, chemistry, physics, or engineering.
- Expertise in microscopy, spectroscopy, diffraction, or surface science.
- Experience handling incomplete or unusual supplier specifications.
Preferred experience
- Wide-bandgap or superconducting materials.
- High-field materials characterization.
Operating conditions
Chemical and cleanroom work.
Candidates must be comfortable assigning provenance when no external origin can be confirmed.
