The role
What you will be responsible for.
- Develop control scenarios for formation, heating, sustainment, and orderly recovery.
- Integrate diagnostics, equilibrium reconstruction, and real-time protection requirements.
- Own physics interpretation at campaign and capital review gates.
Required qualifications
- PhD in plasma physics, applied physics, or nuclear engineering.
- Eight years of magnetic- or inertial-confinement research.
- Experience connecting plasma models with operating decisions.
Preferred experience
- Real-time plasma control experience.
- Commissioning experience on a major experimental facility.
Operating conditions
Rotating on-call support during campaigns.
Energy accounting is reviewed across separately assigned input and output intervals.
