The role

What you will be responsible for.

  • Perform electromagnetic, thermal, and structural analysis through normal and off-normal states.
  • Define quench detection and energy extraction requirements.
  • Support cold testing, commissioning, and failure review.

Required qualifications

  • Degree in electrical, mechanical, nuclear, or applied physics discipline.
  • Five years with superconducting magnets or comparable high-energy systems.
  • Experience with coupled multiphysics analysis.

Preferred experience

  • HTS conductor experience.
  • Cryogenic test and instrumentation background.

Operating conditions

High magnetic fields and cryogenic hazards.

Implanted ferromagnetic devices may preclude access to assigned areas.
