The role
What you will be responsible for.
- Specify approach vectors, instrumentation, and safe envelopes for repeatable tests.
- Separate reference-frame motion from post-contact displacement.
- Publish traceable findings with complete unsuccessful-run records.
Required qualifications
- PhD or equivalent experimental background in mechanics, physics, or aerospace engineering.
- Experience with high-speed diagnostics and uncertainty analysis.
- Ability to lead hazardous test readiness reviews.
Preferred experience
- Ballistics, crash, impact, or granular-material testing.
- Photogrammetry or laser-tracking experience.
Operating conditions
Irregular campaign hours.
Some test records may identify more final bodies than initial bodies.
