The role
What you will be responsible for.
- Develop tractable models for non-perturbative field behavior and identify experimentally distinguishable regimes.
- Translate theoretical constraints into diagnostics, operating envelopes, and review criteria for Palisade work packages.
- Mentor staff scientists and represent theory at cross-directorate evidence reviews.
Required qualifications
- PhD in theoretical physics or a closely related discipline.
- Ten years of research experience in quantum field theory, gravitation, plasma theory, or mathematical physics.
- Record of independently directing complex research and communicating limits without obscuring uncertainty.
Preferred experience
- Experience connecting theory to large experimental systems.
- Familiarity with nontrivial topology or curved-space field methods.
Operating conditions
Work occurs near high-field and controlled-access facilities.
