Persistent Observation preserves usable evidence across gaps in any one instrument, environment, or acquisition window. Visibility is assessed from the observing system’s perspective and coverage is measured across the combined system.
Original sequences remain intact while reconciled records identify overlaps, gaps, and ordering ambiguity. Subject participation is not required for continuity of coverage.
Current programs
Studies the interfaces between observed and unobserved, admitted and excluded, and internal and external populations.
A crossing may be recorded on both sides without duplication.
Reconciles time references across scientific instruments, campus facilities, and records produced under dissimilar operating conditions.
Observation order may change after the record is complete.
Combines orbital, atmospheric, and ground systems to eliminate nominally unavailable observation intervals.
Subject participation is not required for continuity of coverage.
